This is the picture of a young soldier who looks as if he is so young he hasnt even had a girl friend yet. He looks so innocent with his blonde hair and small eyes squinting from the harsh sun. He is carrying alot of bullets, a big backpack that looks like its holding a few clothes, maybe some water and a little food. But to me, it looks like he is carrying the weight of knowing he may never get back to his life and his high school friends. He knows this could be his last day and that he may never get to truly experience things outside of high school life in his small home town. Right now it looks as if hes thinking that war is not as "fun" and "cool" as it looks to little boys who play with pretend guns without bullets like the hard metel ones on his chest.
I like this picture because it shows what was needed to be carried every day through the war.
