This picture shows a soldier with what appears to be a scar or injury on his face as well as a lot of writing on his helmet. The thing that sticks out the most to me is the writing on his helmet. On the side he has a list of months written down and has been crossing them off. I assume that this is his countdown until he gets to leave Vietnam. Though he is smiling, he is porbably happy only because he has one month left on duty before he gets to go home and see his family and friends. I wonder if he also got his injury during one of those months he was at war, and how many friends he had that would never get to finish crossing off their months to go home.
This is a place to brainstorm, share group work, pose questions, comment before/during/after discussions, post drafts--and anything else we decide to blog about on our education odyssey.

I agree with Brian that what sticks out the most is the writing on his helmet.
