The directions are simple here:
Write the essay question of your dreams that allows you to make a strong statement as a writer.
Possible topics include :
how the stories are related
how the characters are related
how the themes are related
how you think about the future as a result of these stories
what these stories have inspired in terms of television and movies
or, if you would like to take the creative writing option...
how about writing a short story of your won about the price of progress?
I think the perfect essay question would either be how all of the stories are related or what the price of progress means to us, using examples from the stories we have read. I think writing our own short story about the price of progress would be pretty good as well.
ReplyDeleteI think the best essay question would be a long the lines of how the stories were related and what the authors are trying to warn us about in each story. I personally don't like the short story idea.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Michael. The perfect essay question would ask how all the short stories we have read are related and what the author was warning us about. I like the idea of writing a short story, but just not for me. I'm not exactly the most creative person ever.
ReplyDeleteThe perfect essay question in my opinion is on the story's themes and how they're related. The stories we have read all have strong themes and messages, so I think it would be easy to write a nice essay about it. It would be really cool to write our own short stories and then maybe see what everyone else came up with, but it might be too difficult to write a full, detailed story.
ReplyDeleteI think that the perfect essay question would be comparing and contrasting the characters or themes of the stories. Or how we connected to the character or actions stated.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Christine I would love the question what the price of progress means to us. I think that would be a good question because it relates to all the stories and it is our own opinion so it can't really be wrong.
ReplyDeleteI lie the future topic, or the topic about how the stories can all be related.
ReplyDeleteI think the question that I would most like to answer would be how we think about the future in the stories because it would be the most interesting one to write about and it would be the one that would be easiest to get our best answers out of
ReplyDeleteI think a good essay question would be how the stories are related and how the stories have gotten us thinking about our future and the direction we are headed in.
ReplyDeleteA good essay question would be how the stories are similar or different. The question could also include how we relate to the characters or story in general.
ReplyDeleteI think a good essay question would ask about the themes that each author is presenting in their story and how they are related. I like the idea of writing our own story about the price of progress.
ReplyDeleteI think the perfect essay question would be how all these stories come together and share a common theme and exsplain what theme you got out of the stories. Because everyones opinion could be slightly different with "the price of progress"
ReplyDeleteI agree with the perfect essay question being something to do with how all of the selections we have read connect to the "price of progress" and what that means to us. It would be important to include examples from the stories to back up the information being stated.
ReplyDeleteI think the perfect essay question would be how all of the stories connect to each other and about the "price of progress"
ReplyDeleteA good essay question would be how all the stories themes and meanings relate to each other or maybe like christine said what the price of progress means to us.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mike with how all the stories are related. I also like the idea of how we personally can connect to the stories even though none of them take place in our lifetime.
ReplyDeleteUnlike most, I would prefer writing the short story because I prefer creative writing because it's much easier for me. But I would not mind writing about how what I think about the future after reading these stories.
ReplyDeleteI agree with most people with the idea of the essay being about how the stories we have read are connected, and how they each address the topic of "the price for progress". I think this is the dream essay because we have answered questions like this for each story individually so, we would be comfortable with it, and it would also add a new element of connecting the stories.
ReplyDeleteI like everyone's ideas here but I rather write a short story type of thing for an essay because its more creative and fun. I'm the type of person who loves to write creatively so this would be a good experience for me or any other of my classmates.
ReplyDeleteI think that the best type of assesment we could have would be to have the essay question on how the stories are realted or what the price of progress means to us today.
ReplyDeleteThe perfect essay question would be, "What the price of progress may mean to you and how your lives would be effected by the price of progress?"
