  1. My book is called Drive: The Story of My Life, written by Larry Bird and Bob Ryan. Larry Bird was a basketball player for the Boston Celtics for 13 seasons. He was drafted 6th overall in 1978, but stayed for his senior year at Indiana State University. His first season was in 1979, and he retired in 1992. He was a 3 time MVP of the NBA and led the Celtics to many championships. After he retired he coached the Indiana Pacers for 3 years. He is now in the basketball hall of fame. Bob Ryan is known as the "basketball guru." He covered the Celtics for the entire era that Bird played for them. He wrote articles for the Boston Globe. He covered many championships for many different sports. I think they wanted to write this book because Larry Birds career was very interesting and Bob Ryan had covered the Celtics for so long.

  2. 1. The author of my book is Erik Larson, and according to amazon.com, he is a writer, journalist and novelist. Also he was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for investigative journalism on the Wall Street Journal. Also he taught non-fiction writing at San Francisco State and John Hopkins. Also according to "eriklarsonsbooks.com" his research has taken him to mmany places around the world so he gets his info first hand. He even studied Italian so he could understand Gugliemlo Marconi and his roots. My book is "The Devil in the White City" and i think that Erik Larson's reason for writing this nonfiction piece is to inform us on a true horrifying criminal case and to let people know about a true event in U.S. history.

    2. I take everything he says as the truth and that he is educated in the subject of his book. Also believe that he knows specific details about the event than other people. I also look at the story with a more open mind so i can learn more about it too because it comes from a real author and researcher.

  3. I found out that my author has many pieces of work about ancient history, not just the one I am reading. Like; "Great Railway Journeys", "In Search of the Trojan War" and "The Story of England". Along with writing he was also a reporter and made many documentary films. I also learned that my book was also a series on tv that aired in America. This has made me think about maybe trying to see this series and maybe watch it compared to the book, this would be interesting. I think that overall he is a very credible source and has been published many times in all sorts of non fiction ancient history stories.

  4. My author has been in many different scandals, mostly plaigerism but also factual errors and flat out lies he put in his books. Although none of these scandals have to deal with the book I am reading about him, it still makes me a bit doubtful about the facts in this book. But I don't think the soldiers he interviewed for this book would let him get away with putting fake stories or facts in the book.

  5. My author is Bill Clinton. I do not doubt his credibility at all because he is a former President. His book is about hsi expectations for America in the coming future. I do not thinkf he would lie about his expectations for the country, and even if he did make it up it his still his own personal expectations so it is not like he is lieing about facts in history.

  6. I am reading "After a Suicide: Young People Speak Up" by Susan Kuklin. I have had some trouble finding good information about Kuklin but basically the research I have gathered that in her younger years she wanted to be an actress, which then transformed into a dream of becoming a director and then she took a different approach on art and wanted to become a photographer and analyze art. Throughout some of her experiences with art she got the idea to write and inform others about difficult stituations. She met a group of students in New York who were publicly were speaking of suicide a lot, thats when the idea aboutt his book started. Kuklin's hope for books like these is to inform and help people who have dealt with difficult subjects or experiences. As I found this out, I gained more respect for the author and realized that her hope is to help others.

  7. The book I'm reading is "A Golfer's Life" by Arnold Palmer and James Dodson and is about the life and career of Arnold Palmer. I looked up the background of James Dodson and he has written a regular column for Golf Magazine for 20 years. He has written another book called "Final Rounds" and it won an award as Golf Book of the Year from the the International Network of Golf. I trust that the information in this book is accurate because he sounds experienced in the subject of golf. I also think that Arnold Palmer would choose a person that he personally trusts to write an accurate book about his life.

  8. John Elder Robison, author of the book I am currently reading, wrote "Look Me in the Eye" to detail his life living with Asperger syndrome. He never knew he had Asperger's and always considered himself a 'misfit' and a 'loner' because these are things therapists told him his entire life. He was not properly diagnosed until age 40. I never knew this information, and it now makes me more interested to read the book.

  9. I was able to find out a couple of things about the author and co-author of my non-fiction story. Since the author of my book is what and who the book is about it is hard to really get writing information on him, compared to most of his athletic achievements. With the co-author Rick Reilly he is a sports writer and has also co-writer some other auto-biographys and biographys i was able to find out about him and what he is as a writer. What i found out doesnt really affect how im going to read the story because from what i found out there has been no scandals or anything.

  10. My book is "No One Get Out of Here Alive" by Jerry Hopkins, and Danny Sugerman. The book is a biography about Jim Morrison. While searching I discovered that both authors have wrietten numerous biographies. Sugerman has even written an extensive number biographies on Jim Morrison himself and The Doors. Hopkins ont the other hand has written similar biographies like ones about Elvis Presley. Along with writing about Morrison, Sugerman actually worked with since the age of 12, and became their manager after Morrisons death. So overall I think I can trust my authors for providing accurate information but that is not to say that they may be biased, for Sugerman has admitted that he idolized Jim Morrison.

  11. Michael Holley has written for numerous newspapers, including sports articles for the New York Times and Boston Globe. He is a part of two radio broadcasts and is co-host of the Comcast Sportsnet show Celtics Now.
Holley has also written books like Patriot Reign, Never Give Up, and Red Sox Rule.
These things qualify Holley to write a story about the legacy of Bill Belichick.

  12. My book "The Diary Of Anne Frank" is written by Anne Frank. I found out that Miep Gies had found her diary after Anne and her family had left the attick for the concentration camp. Miep Gies gave the diary to Anne's father who edited it a little bit and changed names and published it. Also her father took parts Anne wrote in her diary out to protect his daughter and the family.
Now when I continue to read the book I think if there are any parts missing that Anne's father might have taken out of the diary.

  13. My book "Until Tuesday" is by an Iraqi soldier named Luis Carlos Montalvan. I searched my author and he has his own website telling about his life and his book "Until Tuesday." I can tell that this information presented in the memoir is accurate because Montalvan is on the internet and each source shows that he was involved in the war in Iraq and was saved by his service dog named Tuesday.

  14. My book "Jesse" is written by Marianne Leone. After researching her I found out she is an actress and film writer, she also has many novels out. I do believe that her non-fiction book "Jesse" is all true because she is telling her son's story of his life with cerebal palsy and I think it would be hard for her to lie when she is commerating him. Also she dedicates a lot of time to being advocates for disabled children. She seems very true to her book and tells the way she feels a lot, so I can't see her lieing.

  15. 1. The authors for my book are Marilyn Monroe, Ben Hecht and Goshua Greene who wrote the after math of the book because of course she cant write about her death after she dies. Ben Hecht was a playwrite and director and worked alot in the movie business so im not sure if he would change the truth to make it more intresting like a movie director would do. But the fact that Marylin wrote this book with him, i deffidently dont think she would let him tell false information about her. Goshua Greene has no information online availible about him.
    2. This information makes me a little sceptical about the parts in this book that Marylin wasnt alive for, because knowing the information on her about how she was a strong womean and wanted to get her REAL story out with this book makes me belive that all parts up to her death in the book are true and told to the best of their knowledge.

  16. My author is Rebecca Skloot. She actually created the Henrietta Lacks foundation. Which proves that she really cares about how Lacks is perceived and that she is known. I also read that she spends her time in emergency rooms and morgues to become more aware of medicine and science. Some of the topics she has addressed before include goldfish surgery, tissue ownership, and race and medicine. All that I could find is that she is interested in science and medicine and also engages in it. This affects my reading by it makes me trust the book more because I know that her information is true.

  17. My authors of the book "Faithful" are Stephen King and Stewart O'Nan. King is a famous horror story writer and surprisingly a devoted Red Sox fan. He often goes to spring training games and attends as many games as he can during the season and play offs.Stewart O'Nan is a short story writer who was born in Pittsburg but became a Red Sox fan also when he moved to Boston with his wife who also writes. These two fans and talented writers put their talents and similarities together and documented the Red Spx 2004 championship season. The pages are documented with dates and specific occurrences during the season.

  18. My book is called "Half Broke Horses" and is written by Jeannette Walls. There's not much information about her online, I don't know why. I do know, though, that she wrote this book on the life of her grandmother. It was originally supposed to feature her mother, but her mother kept insisting that it should be written about her grandmother. This non-fiction piece is different than just facts like some other works of non-fiction. It's more like a story, so I would probably read it just as I would read fiction, the only difference being that I know it's a true story and the events really happened.

  19. The author of my book is Nuala O'Faolain. She was an Irish journalist, book reviewer, teacher and author. She won journalist of the year for her column in the Irish Times. Nuala wrote the memoir i'm reading to show people what it was like growing up in the 40's and 50's in Ireland. Also to show what it was like in a household at the time. This information makes me read her memoir more sympathetically. Some of the things she had to go through were very hard. But she made it through it all and still kept a good outlook on life.

  20. The author of my book, "Between a Rock and a Hard Place", is Aron Ralston. His purpose for writing this book was to share his own experience with a public audience. I think knowing that this was based on what he went through affects how I read the book because my respect for him will grow and I will understand his stuggles.
