I enjoyed all of them a lot, i like everyones creativity when it comes to diffferent aspects on truth. Even though i did enjoy all i really enjoyed Michael Manely's short story and Abby's poem.I was amazed to see that there were so many poems compared to short stories, i figured it was evenly distributed throughout the class. I like how this project worked out in the end and hope we can do something like this in the future.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed seeing the different ways taht people came up with to represent the truth. The short story that I enjoyed the most was "Remembering" by Nichole Kulikowski. I really liked it because it seemed like something that could be made into a novel. I liked how nicely put together everythhing was also. It was nice that the poems were all some what related and could be read from one to another. It was interesting to see the different opinions and ideas of everyone else.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed marianas poem and i really connected with it. i tihnk that alot of people could connect to that poem becasue most people who have been in a relationship have felt this about a person at one time or another. i identifiyed with ryans poem titles snowballs because my parents have dont that kind of teaching a lesson without acctualy telling a lession. I was amazed by the different views on truth and all of the repercutions truth has on people by reading the short stories.
ReplyDeleteI liked everyone's creative work on this assignment and it was interesting to see everyone's different views of telling the truth. I really like Jeremy's short story, it was very well written, funny, and it kept me interested. I also liked Nichole's short story, I liked the twist at the end and it sort of reminded me of the movie Shutter Island.
ReplyDeleteI liked everyone's writings. The ones that I enjoyed the most were Jeremy's, Lindsay's, Nichole's, and Marianna's. Jeremy's made me laugh. I could just picture the old man and him smiling after he stole the candy bar. I enjoyed Lindsay's because I agree with her on the topic and it was well written. With Nichole's I didn't expect that ending at all. And then Marianna's was very honest. Each one expressed the truth in different ways.
ReplyDeleteThe short story that caught my attention the most was the first one I read by Brian Nickley. It made me stop and think and ask myself, "Has this ever happened before?" and the answer is most likely yes. Being put in the situation of having to tell your bestfriend that he has 4 months to live is an extremely difficult thing to do. I was amazed by the creativity and stories behind the poems people wrote and how they can relate to their own lives. All around a great assignment.
ReplyDeleteI am also impressed by the range of creative choices in our anthology. As a teacher, I have always been perplexed that we read so much in ELA that is creative and then measure your learning by something like an essay. I can see the learning and now understand that this is another way to assess students I will want to use in the future.
ReplyDeleteAs I read all of your work, I can see that you have all learned about various genres of writing, and that you have learned craft and technique from the authors we have read.
I tend to writing in poetry myself as I find that genre free from certain types of rules; I always worry about providing too much or not enough detail in fiction and so stay away from it--I think fiction is a brave choice. I am especially proud of Erica for doing an infographic!
Most importantly, I can tell how seriously you have taken the idea of telling the truth in all its complexity; your work shows that you understand that communication is a process laden with resonsibility, responsibility you take seriously.
Becuase of your repsponse to this assignment, I do see its value and want to do it again.
Thanks,
Dr.G.
I liked seeing all of our class' original works. They showed our various perspectives on the truth. The story that I most enjoyed would have to be Jeremy's short story about an old man telling a lie for the first time in his life. All of the short stories and poems were interesting. Our anthology left me with few questions, and I was amazed by everyone's creativity within the project.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all the stories and poems. I think we all did a great job putting the anthology together. I really liked Nickley's story. Like Joe, I asked myself if this has ever happened before. I also liked Jeremy's story. It was incredibly descriptive and funny. But it also had a different perspective of truth than anyone else had.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading everyone's works. The piece I enjoyed the most was Jeremy's "Orville Bumgardner". There was really good imagery and a lot of descriptive details, and was also very humerous. Nickley's story was good as well, and I also liked Ryan's poem, "Snowballs".
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed readying everyone in our class work. I did not have a favorite work. I thought they were all very good and expressed how each classmate feels about the truth. It was interesting how many ways each person expressed their feelings. No fiction or poem was the same. I especially liked how people like Nickley wrote a short stories.
ReplyDeleteI thought everyone did a really good job. A lot of the works were very creative. I really liked Jeremys. It had really good imagery and was very descriptive. Seeing everyones works together was good too. Since everyones work was based off of truth i liked how everyone had different interpretations of it.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading everyone's writing piece. It was so intresting and amazing because we all had such diffrent ideas on the truth and even though they were diffrent they all came together around a central theme. I liked Nichole's short story a lot. I also liked the all the poems.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading my peers writings. I wrote about Vin Picardi's which was really easy to connect to. I liked the choices he made in writing the poem and I could understand what he was saying. Also I really liked Sam's writing. That was also very easy to connect to because it was about girl teen drama.
ReplyDeleteThis project intrigued me very much. I actually enjoyed reading many works about the same theme. I liked writing about Marianna's poem too because there was actually a story behind it that I thought I found, beyond what I originally thought the poem was about. I like how we all pretty much had a common message among our writing, that is the truth is sometimes hard to tello but it is right to do so. I hope to do another common writing theme soon.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading all of the work written by my classmates. I liked to see what caught their attention in certain poems and stories that I had never realized. Seeing the different strategies that were used made it obvious to notice the hard work that was put into the poems, short stories, etc. I was glad to see that others were able to understand the underlying message of my poem. Other works such as Jeremy's short story and Marianna's poem were both entertaining and interesting to read. I hope that we can do another project similar to this one.
