| For your Non-fiction book, of course! |
- what type of guide you are working on and why;
- what parts beyond the required you are toying with;
- what questions you have about the project and process; and
- what part of the project should be assigned the greatest weight and why.

I am going to do a brochure for my teachers' guide project. I like doing brochures and I think it's a little more organized than some of the other options, at least for me. I'm not sure which part of the project I would say should be assigned the greatest weight. I guess it should be pretty evenly distributed, but we should definitely have a clear synopsis, considering we aren't all reading the same books.
ReplyDeleteI am going to do a brochure. I picked a brochure because for the way I'm putting it together it is more organized. I agree with Erica, everything should be evenly distributed. The summary should be clear though and should be the biggest part of the teacher's guide. The summary is what gets the reader the most interested into the book.

ReplyDeleteI think that the most weighted part of the project should be the questions and weither or not they are deep and thought provokeing. I am doing a brocure type readers guide. The parts beyond the project that i will add to my brocure is an outline of which parts are the most important or website links that have a deeper understanding of what is being mentioned in this book. Im working on the brocure because i think that it will just be more decisive and more helpful to future readers.
ReplyDeleteI am also going to do a brochure. I chose to do this because I find it an easier way to present my memoir's information. I also think that all of the information should be evenly distributed becasue all the information is equally important in making the brouchure. I agree with Kelly that the summary is a large part of the assignment and teachers guide so it should be clear and informative.
ReplyDeleteI am going to do a brochure for my teacher's guide because it is an organized and easy way to get all the information out there. I don't really think that any part should be weighted greater than any other. Each part is important so each part should get a good amount of attention. So far I do not have any question. I am considering adding some quotes that may help summarize and get the feel of the book out there.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to do a brochure because like Kelly and Erica said it is more oranized but also because knowing about the author of the book and not just the book itself is always good. That way you get better background information. The part that should be assigned the greatest weight is the synopsis. Other people might not have read your book so that won't know anything about it. The synopsis has to be clear so that they can understand considering they havent read it.
ReplyDeleteI am doing a brochure because my book is set up more as expectations for America by President Clinton, so I can already envision how i will set it up. Most likely, I will have sections in the brochure for each of the three sections of the book, as well as about the other, discussions, questions, and a cover. The extra parts i will include will probably be a short biography of President Clinton (about the author), a picture of him, and possibly a design on the brochure cover instead of jumping right into the material. I agree with Lindsay the questions should be heavily weighted because if we were actually teaching this book asking questions would get students engaged and help them learn more easily.
ReplyDeleteI think I am going to do a brochure also. Like what Mikayla said, it is important to present all of the information equally and not spend so much time on certain subjects when they all should be mentioned. I think that the summary and like discussion questions are majorly important in grading. A teacher needs to know about the book and other people's opinions and how to talk about the book with his/her class.
ReplyDeleteI am going to do a brochure for the teacher's guide project. A brochure seems to be more organized and easy to understand than any other format. I am considering adding more than the required amount of pictures into the brochure. I also agree the summary should be assigned the greatest weight because the summary is what grabs the reader's attention. The choice to begin reading the book relies on the summary and how well it portrays the story to be.
ReplyDeleteI am going to do a brochure format for my teachers edition for the book Drive. I want to do a brochure because i think it will fit well with my book. I think I am going to try adding background information to the brochure just so the reader can understand what he has accomplished in his career. Maybe some sort of timeline of the accomplishments in his career. The brochure should be have the greatest weight because it is the actual assessment of our story.
ReplyDeleteI am going to de a brochure because it is the simpliest and easiest to understand by the reader. Besides the requiered parts I am also going to de an about the author part, and maybe mention the fact that Ambrose has been in some controversy with some of his other books.
ReplyDeleteThe type of guide that i am doing for my teachers guide is a brochure format. i decided to choose this one because it is a creative way to show the information to the reader in an interesting and different way rather than just a book. The parts i am thinking about doing would be to have all of his statistics on the brochure just to express how great of an athlete he was. I don't have any questions on this. i Think that the part that should have the most weight would be the brochure part
ReplyDeleteI am going to make an attempt to create a blog but if that comes out to be a disaster, I will do a brochure as a back up. My book can be completed by doing either one of these, but im trying to do something different. Beyond the required assignments I am going to include a theme section, author backround, and give a list of all the chapters of the book. How one interpreted the book should be the most weighted section because it shows that you understand the book and got something out of it.
ReplyDeleteWell, like the many before me, i am also doing a brochure format. i feel like it will be a different and more unique approach than the usual book format. I plan on including an about the author piece and an opinion express. I feel like the content in general should be weighted the most... as in, have we supplied a sufficient teachers blog overall.
ReplyDeleteI am going to be doing a booklet similar to the ones we were shown in class. I am maybe going to include hand-outs and worksheets along with the discussion questions. I think the synopsis should be weighted the most because it requires the most effort and work. I also think that the art should be weighted a significant amount becuase some people enjoy the creative aspect to projects such as this.
ReplyDeleteI am going to try to make a blog, but this will be my first attempt at this, so I'm not sure how this will turn out. I chose this because I think that with all of this technology around us why not take advantage of it and learn a new thing. I have a couple ideas of extra things that I might add but I am not exactly sure yet. Any advice would be helpful. I like the idea of the questions being weighted heavily also, but I think a set of example questions would be very helpful. That goes for whatever will be most heavily weighted, some sort of example would be great.
ReplyDeleteI am going to create a brochure for my teacher's guide project. I think it will be the easiest way to display the information about the book and it will be easier for the reader as well. I think I am going to attempt to hand draw a picute of Arnold Palmer or something related to golf for the cover art rather than just printing one and copying it on. The part of the project I think should be wieghted the most are the summary and discussion questions because the summary gives a brief explanation of the book and focuses on key parts and the discussion questions are important because it will ask about the main points that were covered in the book to see if the reader understood and followed along with the book.
ReplyDeleteI am also doing a brochure for my teachers guide. I chose to do a brochure because it a short, neat, and easily presentable. I think that all categories should be weighted equally because all parts are important or they wouldn't be there, for example the vocabulary words (if needed)are just as important as the summary because without them you may not be able to understand the summary.
