As soon as the majority of the class responds, I will establish a due date and schedule in class writing.
I am nearly done reading the novel, but I still have to go back through it and take notes. I think a reasonable due date would be some time next week (not this upcoming week but the week afterwards). That would give us another valuable weekend to work on it because some of us simply do not have time during the week. I think maybe we could take our SSR day and turn it into an optional work day, in case some people would rather take the time and read.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty close to finishing the novel also. I think a reasonable due date is next Monday, October 17th. I agree with Nichole that on Friday we should have the opportunity to use that time to work on the assignment.
ReplyDeleteI am a little more than half way through the novel. I think that a good date for the novel to be due is the 21st because that would give us two more SSR's to read the novel and take notes on it as well as understand the novel as much as we can.
ReplyDeleteI am 2/3 of the way done with the novel so I still need to read the other third and take notes. After reading the responses before me, I agree with mikayla that the due date for f451 should be the 21st. We would all benefit from having an extended amount of time so we can take time to fully understand it, compare notes with other students, go back and reread parts we didn't get, compare our knowledge of the book with that from websites(shmoop, spark notes,ect.) ect. Also like what mikayla said, we would have two ssr days to read it, which would benefit busy students who may not have enough time.
ReplyDeleteI also agree that the due date should be 21. This way it gives us more time to talk about the book in class to help clarify any questions about the book. This also gives everyoe more time to read the book fully and in depth rather than having to rush to finish it in time.

ReplyDeleteI'm almost halfway through the novel so far. I think that te 21st sounds like an okay due date because it'll give us enough time to finish the novel for those who haven't already and we'll still have time to actually write the paper.
ReplyDeleteI am basically finished finished with reading f451. The assignment is reasonable and a practical due date would most likely be next friday the 21 of October.
ReplyDeleteI am almost done with the novel and feel that sometime next week would be a good due date for the essay and I think the 21st would be a good day. That way we can get another weekend to work on it and I like the idea of having friday be an optional work day instead of SSR.

I like the idea of having the paper due on the 21st because it gives everyone enough time to finish the story and take notes as well as write a good paper. I think we should take one or two days of class time to work on this just so we all understand the novel and the assignment.

ReplyDeleteI am about a day or two from finishing the book. So I agree that the due date for this assignment should be the 21st. This way after I am done with the book, I can use the rest of this week to review it and take important notes. Then I can use the following week to write my essay and maybe review the book over this weekend. So, I feel that the 21st is a reasonable due date.

I think that gives us just enough time to go back through and review the novel and to work on the formal paper. Having the paper due on the 24th could be good too because it would give us the weekend to finish it up potentially.
