Act II does not really involve my character so far, but i think it is interesting because you can tell there is going to be some sort of conflict. All 3 groups of characters are secretly meeting in the woods at night, which means they are all going to run into eachother. I'm not sure what will happen but i am predicting some sort of clash between the groups.
ReplyDeleteGood estimate, Brian...what do you think would happen in a comedy in the woods? Many of Shakespeare's comedies involve mistaken identities. Also, consider the "drama" that can happen when two couples go out for an evening...
ReplyDeleteJust like Brian, I did not show up much in the second act. All of the characters are going to the woods at night which is very mysterious. I am not too sure how meeting in the woods at night is going to turn into a comedy. Like Brian, I also think that there is going to be some type of clash between the characters but I am not quite sure how that is going to turn into a comedy. I think that Shakespeare is going to trick us and something unexpected is going to happen.
ReplyDeleteI also don't show up in the second act so there is not much for me to add. I also predict that there is going to be a conflict soon between the three groups that are meeting. Maybe even in the next Act. I think that eventually the conflict will resolve and the wedding will go ahead as planned, and the Hermia and Helena will each get what they wanted, along with Peter Quince and the Duke.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any parts in the second act but I believe that tension is going to build up is this act, leaving act III to be the climax of the play. Something dramatic is going to occurring leaving alot of drama between the three groups. (possibly a fight at the deli for some honey ham?)
ReplyDeleteSome words to know for Act 2
ReplyDelete1. Dale- Valley
2. Brier- a shrub
3. Pensioners- royal guard
4. Anon- soon
5. Knavish- mischievous
6. Beguile- to influence by flattery and to mislead
7. Amorous- expressing love
8. Changeling- a strange child left by fairies in place of a pretty, charming child
8. Vestal-pure
9. Spaniel- cringing person
Cringe- to fawn
Fawn- a young deer
10. Sentinel- a person or thing that watches
11. Languish- to become weak
I predict that in Act 3 that a conflict will arise and there will be more drama and action in this act than the rest.
Act II was an interesting act, it starts the action and the entwinement of the different groups activities. We see the high class group and the supernaturals interact, but we also know that the Mechanicals are planning to put on their play in the woods, so we know this leaves even more room for shenanigans. My character, Flute, isn't in this act, but I predict him and all of the workers will be included in the next act.
ReplyDeleteMy character Puck plays a big role in this act. He is Oberon's servant and he is instructed by Oberon to go and find the flower that contains the love potion. Once Puck finds it, he is told the plan, and once he follows through with his plan, that's when the drama really begins. But I do have one question, I am not really sure what Puck means in Act II scene 1 lines 42 through 58, I don't really know what that bit of dialogue means.
ReplyDeleteLike the other Mechanicals in the play my character Tom Snout does not show up in Act 2. However, Act 2 is a very important Act because it involves two different groups becoming involved with each other. Since this Act only shows the Supernaturals and Royal characters in the woods, I assume in Act 3 the Mechanicals will show up and then all three groups will run into some overlapping conflict.
ReplyDeleteMy character wasn't in this act either. I will show up soon in act 3 because the athenians are in the woods now where I am. Act 2 was about how they were walking through the woods on their way to lysanders aunts. Helena and demitrius where trying to find them before they left.
ReplyDeleteMy character, Oberon, appears in act 2. In his first appearance, he gets into an arguement with Titiana. When Titiana leaves, he tells Puck to retrieve a love potion from a flower. This potoin will make a person fall in love with the next person he or she sees. In act 3, i think that all the charaters will meet in the forest.
ReplyDeleteMy character, Hippolyta, does not appear in this act either. After preveiwing the next few acts, I realized I do not appear until Act IV. I have a feeling Act III will be an important act and something important will occur.
ReplyDeleteI find act 2 to be a lot more interesting than act one. I think it's interesting how it talks about the love potion. I think that once act three begins, all the of characters will meet each other and something big will happen. Maybe the groups of people won't love each other or maybe someone will fall in love.
ReplyDeleteI liked this act because the suspense is rising and you're wondering what's going to happen when Helena tells Demetrius about Hermia and Lysander's plan to run away together and get married. It's getting more interesting. Like a lot of others, though, my character hasn't shown up yet.
ReplyDeleteMy character doesnt appear in this Act. The plot really gets going as the fairies are introduced and the main characters appear in the woods. I think that the next act will involve conflict within and between all three groups present in the forest at night.
ReplyDeleteMy character hasn't been involved in the last two scenes and i don't think it does in the next scene. I predict this next act will show some craziness and conflict.
