some words to know-
ReplyDeleteDowager-"a woman who holds some title or property from her deceased husband, especially the widow of a king, duke, etc."
- Basically means that it is a widow woman that was once married to a man with a title, like a king or duke.
Well my character, Titania, is not in act one so there isn't much I can tell about her yet. I predict that in act two, Titania will appear along with her fairies.
ReplyDeleteI am Hermia and this is a big act for me because I am told by my father if I don't wed Demetrius then I can either be nun for life or be killed. Then Lysander asked to marry me and we can meet in the magical forest the next day, so I make the bold decision to say yes, but then we tell jealous Helena our whole plan. I like this act a lot because it is very daring and my character acts extremely bold.
ReplyDeleteMy character is Peter Quince, and he is the leader of the group putting on the play. All he wants during this Act is basically to get everyone in the play to have a part and master it. He also wants Bottom to stop trying to get every part in the play.
ReplyDeleteIn Act I, we were pretty much just introduced to the royalty group and the conflict with them, and the Mechanicals, who are putting on a play in the woods. My character, Francis Flute, is part of the play being headed by Peter Quince. He is assigned the role of a female character, and though he protests, saying he has a beard growing, he is forced to accept. In Act II I think we will be introduced to the supernatural characters, the conflict with the higher class will further develop, and the workers' play will progress.
ReplyDeleteMy character is Robin Goodfellow, a.k.a. Puck and is not yet introduced in the play. But so in Act 1 we have been introduced to the royalty characters and how their problems are progressing. Also we met the Mechanicals led by Peter Quince. They are trying to put on a play in the forest and trying to get theirs roles sorted out. I think in Act II we will be introduced to the Supernaturals and the conflict between the royals will continue further.
ReplyDeleteMy Character is Thomas Snout, he is a mechanical, and is part of the play that Peter Quince is organizing. In Act 1 the royal characters are introduced as well as the conflicts that the individual characters face. Also, in Act 1 the Mechanicals are introduced who are basically a group of working class people who, are being lead by Peter Quince to perform a play in the forest. This group includes my character Tom Snout, who really has no protest to his part and doesn't really say much. So, In Act 2 I predict that we will meet the Supernatural characters and be introduced to their conflict, and we will also learn more about the royal conflict.
ReplyDeleteMy character cobweb wasn't in this act. This act was about how Hermia has a decision to make between her true love and being a nun. I think the next act will be about the adventure in the woods with the fairies.
ReplyDeleteIn act one, we get to know the main characters of the play. Lysander, Hermia, Helena, and Demetrius are all introduced and we get to see the comedy that is going to play out in the forest. My character, Nick Bottom, wants to play every part of the play in Scene 2. I predict that all of the characters will run into each other in the woods when the night comes in Act II.
ReplyDeleteIn Act I my character, Lysander, is in love with Hermia, who is supposed to marry Demetrius. He wants to be with Hermia, but ehr father says she cannot be with me, so she must choose between Demetrius, becoming a nun, or death. He tells Hermia that he has an aunt seven leagues from where they are and they can sneak off in the night to get married there. I predict that they will meet up with the supernaturals and mechanics in the woods.
ReplyDeleteMy character does not appear in act 1. He is a fairy, they are intriduced in act 2. In act 1, the Atheniens are introduced along with the conflict of the Hermia an Lysander running off into the woods, and Helena and Demitrius following them. In act 2, i think the supernaturals will be introduced and give some sort of reasoning for being in the woods the next night.
ReplyDeleteMy character is Hippolyta and I am soon to marry Theseus. Although I have a small speaking role, a lot of background information is revealed about how I came here with Theseus. Theseus captured me the rest of the Amazons and forced me to marry him. I predict we will finally be introduced to the fairies in Act II.
ReplyDeleteMy character, a fairy named Mustardseed, isn't wasn't in this act but I liked it because, like Shannon said, her character was bold and daring.. that made the act more interesting.
ReplyDeleteMy character, Robin Starveling, is introduced as one of the Mechanicals in Peter Quince's play. He is to play Thisbe's mother. He only has one line, so it is not clear what he wants yet. I predict that in Act 2 the supernaturals will be introduced.
