The thing i will remember most about this years ELA class is having the Netbooks in class with us evrysay and going through our routine with Garison and the Daily Infographic.I learned how to blog and what a blog is. What i have become more skilled at doing is being more patient with technology becasue it just helps the computuers go faster. I am looking forward to having alot of writing experince under my belt by the time i get to college. AP will be the most preparing thing in highschoool for college for me.
ReplyDeleteI will remember all the class discussions and laughing as a class at others jokes and stories. Being together as a class and talking to each other and using each other as energy to participate in everything. I learned how to blog and post on the computer and from what i understnad our English class basically revolutionized how a blog works by using each others ideas to communicate with one another through technoloogy. I feel like my reading and comprehension skills have definately increased and so havent my writing ablities. I have expanded my horizons in writing essays of all types. I am honestly not looking forward to any part of next year... at all
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lindsay, I think the most memorable thing about ELA this year is coming into class every day and having access to the netbooks and posting on the blog. I also will remember listening to Garrison and looking at the Daily Infographic. This year I learned how to blog. I never knew how to blog before and never unserstood the process. This year I think I have become more skilled at writing about stories and novels. It has made me more focused on the story and look at every detail while reading. It is different from previous years because before we were usually given random prompts more often than prompts based on a story. Next year I am looking forward to reading new books and seeing the different approaches and styles of my new teacher. I definately have learned a lot in ELA this year and I'm gonna miss it!
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Lindsay, and the thing I will remember most is using the netbooks. This was the first time I had been using computers daily for an english course.I will also remember our daily routine, and how our homework assignments were always on a blog. I have become more skilled at blogging because this was the first time I have ever used a blog. I am looking forward to more challenging writing assignments next year, as I love to write.
ReplyDeleteWhat I will most remember about this year is our daily routine, in which we listened to Garrison narrate the Writer's Almanac daily and then checking out and learning different facts through the Daily Infographic. I didn't know how to blog that much, but because of this year in English I became more of an expert in that category. I became skilled at using and navigating the netbooks. I learned a lot and grew a lot due to our experiences as an English class this year.
ReplyDeleteI think I will remember the most using the netbooks, the daily infographic and the writers almanac. It was an interesting way to start the class every day. I think I have become a more skilled writer and am looking forward to improving my writing skills as my high school career continues. I learned how to blog in this class. Even though it seems like second nature at this point, I had no clue how to do it at the beginning of the year. Thanks for a great year, and have an awesome summer.
ReplyDeleteI will also remember our netbook experience the most. I really took it for granted until I talked to kids in the other class who were extremely jealus of our netbook using.
ReplyDeleteI think that I'll remember using the netbooks and all our class discussions the most. I learned that there are many ways to be assessed and that you don't always have to write a paper, you can be creative. I think that all my writing got better. I have never really been a strong writer but this year I think I stepped it up. Next year will help me become prepared for AP hopefully senior since I chose not to go to it junior year. I hope next year as fun as this year :)
ReplyDeleteWhat I will remember most about this year was our daily routine like some others who posted already. My favorite was the Daily Infographic because it tought interesting facts I didn't know before. Before this year I never blogged before, so I didn't really know how to but it was easy to learn and I will have to use it next year as well for AP. I also became skilled at using the netbooks. I hope next year will be similar to next year becuase if it is I think I will do fine.
ReplyDeleteI'll most remember using the netbooks and reading Night, The Help, and Fahrenheit 451. Those were my favorite books this year. What I'll miss most is our class discussions on some things. I liked hearing other people's opinions on certain things. Next year I'm looking forward to the different books I'll be reading. Have a nice summer!
ReplyDeleteLike people already said i'll remember the netbooks the most too. i had never used a blog before this year so i though learning to use them was good. i think my writing definately got better this year. everything i learned this year i will bring with me next year into ap english.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed english class this year. Having the netbooks was really cool. I think that may have been what I liked the most but I also liked having options for our projects and assignments instead of just one set prompt. I think that everything I learned and my improvements in writing will prove useful for me in the future, particularly in AP English next year. It was a memorable year, thanks!

DeleteThank you for a fabulous year. I, too, am challenged and excited by the netbooks. I am not a person who does well with routine--I get distracted easily-- but I am glad the Writer's Almanac and Daily Infographic were things you looked forward to--you can still go to them every day; Writer's almanac and the Daily infographic can be set up to come to your email...writers Almanac is even tweeted!
ReplyDeleteSend me recommendations for reading this summer or if you have an idea for something I can do with next year's sophomores...you can post here on the blog, if you'd like.
Take care, and have a wonderful summer!

I had a great and memorable experience in english class this year. I think the thing I wil miss the most is our class discussions, we talked about a lot and I like how we could feed off of each others responses and through in our own ideas. The blog was very useful and I like that it was our way of doing our homework because it was just like having a class discussion, but only on a blog. The skills I learned in both reading and writing will be very useful to me in the future, particularly next year in AP. This past year has been awesome, thank you!
