-sentence: '"We stand against the small tide of those who want to make everyone unhappy with conflicting theory and thought."' This sentence clarifies that books bring unhappiness to people with their ideas and messages.
-word: unhappy The most important word is "unhappy" because the firemen burn the books since they cause people to be "unhappy".

ReplyDelete-page: 55 is the most important page because this is where Montag somewhat has an epiphany and realizes the error of his ways. He starts to reform his thought process and rethink his choices.
-sentence: "And I'd never even thought that thought before" - this kind of goes along with my working theme of that everyone is letting other people or factors think for them. They never have deep thoughts of there own. Here we can see that Montag is realizing this now.
-word: "thought" is the most important word because there is a huge problem in this story with people not thinking for themselves and lacking their own personal opinions or views. There's no thought process in this modern day society.

ReplyDeleteThe most important page is page 61. It talks about how people want to be happy and without books people wouldn't be able to express what they think and different ideas.
The most important sentence on page 61 is "thanks to them, you can stay happy all the time.." In their society everyone wants to live a happy life. Books offended people so without books everyone would be the same.
The most important word on page 61 is happy. The bottom line is that everyone wanted to be happy. In order to be happy everyone needed to think the same and do the same things. In the society where they live now people don't know how to think for themselves , they spend most of their day watching the television. They are always too busy.

- This page talks of why Montag became a fireman in the first place. It ran in his bloodline. The job was a goal for him because it was the only thing he knew. He knew once he took the Jon he couldn't back out of it.

ReplyDeletePage: 61 — this page explains the reasons behind the society and fall down of books, so we learn more about a background for what we are reading, and it explains a lot of what goes on in the book.
Sentence: "'Today, thanks to them, you can stay happy all the time, you are allowed to read comics, and the good confessions, or trade journals.'" — some of it explains that books are allowed because they make people unhappy, but it mostly shows that the basis of their entire society is only being happy, in no unpleasant or negative feelings, anywhere are allowed, ever.
Word: Minorities — Part of the reasons for their society the way it is and they reasons they burn books, are because these all get offended and get unhappy the most.
