MSND: More strange than true...

You have been asked to read and annotate the beginning of Act V, scene i, the conversation between Theseus and Hipployta. Theseus represents our rational side, our logos, while Hippolyta sees "constancy" or truth in the "strange and admirable " stories of the Midsummer's night in the forest; she represents the intuituve feeling or imaginative side, our pathos.

• Why do you prefer that character's position?
• What sort of supernatural phenomenon do you wonder about?
• Do you think anyone will ever prove that supernatural phenomena to be true?
• How can a reasonable person believe in something that is not empirically proven to be true?
